Save the Date!! The Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network, in collaboration with Penn State Cooperative Extension, are pleased to welcome acclaimed speaker Dr. Joye Norris to this year’s event! Dr. Norris has been working with educators since 1991, offering a learner-centered, dialogue approach to workshop design and facilitation skills. She has extensive experience with Extension programs, WIC, and other health-related organizations. Her book, From Telling to Teaching, is being used nationally, and is included in the curricula of several universities that have nutrition education programs. In addition to her consulting work, Dr. Norris is adjunct faculty for Nova Southeastern University, teaching K-12 educators who are pursuing their master's degrees. Her goal is always to allow participants to make personal meaning of the new information. Her sessions are filled with all voices and plenty of dialogue! Joye strives to put passion in the hearts of educators and trainers-a passion for learning, for teaching, and for tapping into the tremendous potential of their learners . . . and themselves. Dr. Norris will join many notable speakers and panels in addressing hunger, nutrition education, and other food and nutrition related issues at the 8th annual Strengthening the Food Resource Safety Net conference, co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network and the Pennsylvania Hunger Action Center. Meet your colleagues and work together to boost the nutrition of low-income families and eliminate hunger. Take advantage of the opportunity to share ideas and challenges and gain insight into emerging issues and initiatives. Use the conference setting to expand your personal or organizational network while enhancing your skills and knowledge. Continuing education credits will be available (pending approval)! The Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network and the Pennsylvania Hunger Action Center empathize with the growing financial constraints faced by Pennsylvania’s nonprofit organizations. In an effort to accommodate these ever-tightening budgets, a one-day rate to those unable to attend the entire conference. Stay tuned for more details!
