PA Association of Family and Consumer Sciences announces 2007 award recipients

The Pennsylvania Association of Family and Consumer Sciences recently announced its award winners for 2007, recognizing individuals who have excelled in scholarly activity and have contributed to the profession and clientele they serve.

Recipients in the Professional Development Awards categories included Mary Ehret, for the Distinguished Service Award; and Mary Alice Gettings and Sandra Parker Hall, for the Continued Excellence Award; Joan McEnrue, for Para-Professional Award; and a team of 47 individuals - Nancy Wiker, Fran Alloway, Barbara Jane Bartley, Shirley Bixby, Karen Bracey, Dottie Bromley, Andrea Bressler, Debra Bryant, Dori Campbell, Marilyn Corbin, Kathryn DiGuiseppe, Katherine French, Debra Gregory, Nancy Grotevant, Cathy Guffey, Elise Ann Gurgevich, Julie Haines, Sandra Parker Hall, Cathy Harrington, Lynn James, Cindy Javor, Darlene Jury, Lois Killcoyne, Jane Ann Landis, Lynda Lueck-Stoner, Sharon McDonald, Janet McDougall, Marg Malehorn, Cheryl Miller, Dawn Olson, Mary Ann Klinger Oyler, Christine Orrson, Judy Richardson, Jeannine Richlin, Janice Ronan, Nancy Routch, Nancy Stevens, Fay Strickler, Janice Stoudnour, Karen Thomas, Melissa Tomascik, Carole Toubakaris, Beth Van Horn, Marcia Elizabeth Weber, Carolyn Wissenbach, Phyllis Wright, Nancy Yergin - for the Florence Hall Award. All of these members were named National winners in these categories.

Communication Award winners included team Nancy Wiker, Sandra Hall, Stacey Hutchison Miscisin, Judy Richardson, and Marcia Weber for their entry in the Educational Curriculum Package category, which was a State 1st and Eastern Region 2nd winner; Nancy Stevens, Dave Suchanic, and Judy Richardson, for their entry in Internet Education Technology; team Marg Malehorn, Cheryl Miller, Debra Kay Boyd, Jane Ann Landis, Lenelle Roberts, Marcia Elizabeth Weber, Mary Ann Klinger Oyler, Nancy Eileen Routch, Nancy Wiker, Nina Redding, and Sandra Parker Hall, for their entry in the Newsletters category, which was a State 1st, Eastern Region 1st, and National 3rd winner; Denise Continenza, for her entry in the Television category, which was a State 1st, Eastern Region 2nd, and National 3rd winner; and Susan Giachero, for her entry in the Written Press Release category, which was a State 1st winner. 

Recipients of the Program Awards included Susan Giachero, for the Early Childhood Child Care Training Award, which was a State 1st and Eastern Regional Winner; Laurie Weinreb-Welch, for the Healthy Lifestyles Education Grant, which was a State 1st winner; Jan Scholl, for the Healthy Lifestyles Education Grant, which was a State 2nd winner; team Mary Alice Gettings, Roxanne Price, Deanna Behring, Nancy Crago, Nancy Kadwill, Leon Ressler, Robin Rex, and Fay Strickler, for their entry in the Mary W. Wells Diversity Award category, which was also a State 1st winner; and Jan Scholl, for the Program Excellence Through Research Award, which was a State 1st winner.

In the Public Relations Awards categories, Laurie Weinreb-Welch won the Community Partnership Award, which was State 1st and Eastern Region winner; and to team Lynn James, Matt Kaplan, Marg Malehorn, Laura Weinreb-Welch, Dori Campbell, John Byrnes, Lois Jean Killcoyne, Cindy Javor, Mike Phillips, Judy Richardson, and Mary Fusco for the Marketing Package Award, which was the State 1st, Eastern Region, and National Winner.

All Regional and National winners were additionally recognized at the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences meeting in St. Paul, Minnesota, September 2007.
